Sebastiano Cardi, was elected today Vice President of the 70th General Assembly by consensus.<BR><BR><BR>Sebastiano Cardi has been serving as the Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations in New York since September 16, 2013 . A career diplomat with over thirty years of experience both at home and abroad, he came to New York after serving as Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Rome. Amb. Cardi is currently serving as President of the Second Committee for the 69th UNGA. <BR><BR><BR>He will serve as Vice President of the 70th UNGA in line with the spirit and commitment of Italy to the United Nations system &#8211; one of the pillars of our country\u2019s foreign policy.<BR><BR><BR><IMG style=\"WIDTH: 720px; HEIGHT: 504px\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Amb.
