Andrea Orlando, who will discuss the importance of incorporating gender perspectives in drug policies.<\/p>\n<p>Years of research have established a clear consensus regarding the fact that men and women engage differently in the use of drugs. The same scientific evidence tends to show that women are exposed to a higher social stigma compared to male users, a reality that poses a number of considerations when designing and implementing drug treatment programs.<\/p>\n<p>It is with these considerations in mind that the event will take place, on the sidelines of the Special Session of the General Assembly on the World Drug Problem (UNGASS 2016).
