Maurizio Massari<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thank you Mr. President.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Excellencies, dear colleagues,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I am honoured to deliver these remarks jointly with my fellow cofacilitator, my dear colleague Amb. Margo Dyeie, Permanent\u00a0Representative of Nauru to the UN.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the outset, we wish to express our gratitude to you, Mr. President of\u00a0ECOSOC, Amb. Collen Vixel Kelapile, for having entrusted us with this\u00a0high, important and challenging task of facilitating the negotiations for\u00a0this year\u2019s HLPF Ministerial Declaration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The HLPF is our unique, inclusive and effective platform, the key forum\u00a0for the review of the 2030 Agenda. Its Ministerial Declaration represents\u00a0its central outcome, constituting the political commitment of the\u00a0international community to accelerate action for the SDGs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We leave at times of multiple and interconnected crises which are putting\u00a0at great risk the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda. We, Member\u00a0States of the HLPF, have been therefore called to step up efforts,\u00a0strengthen National and International action guided by solidarity,\u00a0multilateralism and leaving no one behind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After 6 months of negotiations, today we have before us a comprehensive,\u00a0ambitious, action-oriented Declaration, which set key political\u00a0commitments and precise policy guidance for all, in order to deliver on\u00a0our promises. We are reflecting the gravely concerning global scenario,\u00a0touching upon key issues, and relaunching global, regional, national and\u00a0sub-National action and calling all actors to redouble efforts in all\u00a0dimensions of sustainable development, including by recalling the peacesustainable development indivisible link. We are reaffirming without\u00a0reserves that the 2030 Agenda and all its connected UN framework,\u00a0including the Paris Agreement, are our common blueprint to recover\u00a0better from COVID-19 and to build a better future for all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We wish to sincerely thank all delegations for all their tireless efforts and\u00a0cooperation in all stages of negotiations. After a lot of work, it is with a\u00a0sense of appreciation that we can now unite behind this Ministerial\u00a0Declaration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dear colleagues,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After intense work together, we achieved an important objective. By\u00a0considering this declaration today, we are proving that even at the most\u00a0challenging times, we can come together and deliver in the interest of all.\u00a0We are recalling that with diplomacy, cooperation and dialogue, we can\u00a0bridge gaps and find common solutions. We are reaffirming the central\u00a0role of multilateralism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We hope that, by adopting this declaration, we will truly accelerate global\u00a0action to achieve the 2030 Agenda and send a strong signal that\u00a0multilateralism can and will deliver for all and leave no one behind.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thank you.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2022Adoption of the Ministerial Declaration Statement by the Permanent Representative of Italy to the UNAmb.
