The promotional action to build the third-generation laboratory for the detection of gravitational waves, Einstein Telescope, in Sardinia continues.

Italy is a candidate to build the Einstein Telescope (ET) project, the future large research infrastructure for the detection of third-generation gravitational waves, at the Sos Enattos site in Sardinia, which objectively offers ideal characteristics to host the project, and is suitable for both possible configurations.

The strengthening of Italy’s role as an international scientific hub and the economic development of the territory are the main expected benefits, at the core of the national initiative to host this research infrastructure in Sardinia.
