Joint Press release of Uniting For Consensus and the Arab Group

1. On 20 March 2023 Members of the Uniting for Consensus (UfC) and the Arab Group met to exchange views on the ongoing intergovernmental negotiations on the Reform of the UNSC (IGN) and the future perspectives.
2. They reiterated their commitment to a comprehensive reform of the UNSC that would make the Council broadly representative, efficient and geographically balanced, as well as more transparent, democratic and accountable. To this end they will continue to engage in the IGN.
3. The two groups reiterated their firm support to a comprehensive reform of the Security Council through the IGN and agreed to continue to work together to find and foster convergences in order to help the process move forward.
